Daniel James Praises Bruno Fernandes’ Impact


No player in recent memory has had quite the instant impact at Manchester United like Bruno Fernandes.

The Portuguese international was greeted with great optimism from fans back in January, as he arrived into a side that was starved of creativity in the middle. Fernandes was brought in to rectify this issue, and he has done so to devastating effect.

United have won six of the eight games that the midfielder has started in, boasting an undefeated record since he came to the club. The 25-year-old has rejuvenated the squad, picking up praise from pundits and fellow teammates.

Daniel James has recently been the latest figure to dish out such praise. Speaking [quotes via MEN] on the club’s official app [Utd app], he said:

“I think he has been great. Since he has come in he has given us a big lift, he plays that killer ball which obviously helps me and the other strikers out.”

The frontmen have benefited from Fernandes’ arrival

The latter point of Fernandes playing that ‘killer ball’ has been highlighted with his assist record since arriving, to which he has registered four, in just nine games.

In fact, despite featuring in just five league fixtures, only Marcus Rashford and James have registered more assists, within the entire squad. Fernandes’ quality in the final third has been a refreshing sight, with the Welshman paying further credit to his attacking traits:

“He is willing to do that, he takes the set-pieces, and he has come in, we have won a few games, and we have gone on a run since then. I do think he has had a big uplift on our season.”

United finally have a top quality playmaker

After hitting the ground running, fans are already excited to see what the playmaker can produce over an entire season. Simply put, he has been nothing short of a revelation since arriving from Sporting Lisbon – not the first to do so either.

So long as he maintains this form, United have every chance in challenging for some major silverware next season.
