Harry Maguire Holds Marcus Rashford In The Highest Of Regards

As much as we like to critique our own players as fans, I think you’d be hard-pressed to find many reds that don’t love Marcus Rashford.

Manchester born and bred, an academy graduate who literally bleeds United and one of the most exciting young players in the world, it easy to see why he is the favourite player of young kids and life-long supporters alike.

Although he is still relatively young, Rashford has already achieved so much in his career. As well as becoming one of the most influential figures in the dressing rooms, he acts almost as the cornerstone of the young, British core being re-established in the squad, not to mention a role model for those coming through the academy. The extent of his importance isn’t going unnoticed either.

In the latest episode of the UTD Podcast, which features not only our current captain but former skipper and United legend, Bryan Robson, Harry Maguire can’t help but sing Rashford’s praises. Not only does he state his admiration for his principles, innate leadership qualities and resilience in coming back from injury, but he goes so far as to describe him as ‘the most talented player he’s ever played with’.

When you put that in context of all the players he’s encountered both on a club level and internationally, it’s high praise indeed. It has long been the general consensus that Rashford has all the talent, potential and work ethic to become one of the greats, and he was on track to have his best season ever prior to injury. Let’s hope he can start just as strong next year.
