Jude Bellingham Edging Closer To Manchester United

Manchester United are confident of securing a deal for Jude Bellingham this summer, according to various reports.

The 16-year-old is regarded as one of England’s most promising talents, showcasing his ability on the senior stage with Birmingham City this season, featuring in thirty-two Championship games.

His composure and presence on the field have caught the eye of many, with Chelsea, Borussia Dortmund and United all being cited in having an interest.

As per the Manchester Evening News, the Red Devils identify Bellingham as an ‘attainable’ target this summer, with the club prepared to press on and invest during these economically challenging times. The outlet reports that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is after three signings, with Jack Grealish and Jadon Sancho also being on his list.

Bellingham has been longingly admired figure at Old Trafford, with the player and his family being granted a tour around Carrington earlier in the year, having a face to face meeting with Sir Alex Ferguson. Whilst there were slight hopes of concluding an early deal in January, no deal materialised.

There can be no denying United’s intent on signing the youngster, but the midfielder will want first-team assurances. As per the Metro, this is something being promised by the club. Despite his inexperience in the Premier League, they report that Bellingham would be competing for a starting position straight away.

Such promises seem appropriate, particularly given Dortmund’s interest. The Evening Standard cite that the potential deal would cost around £30m, a fee Solskjaer is prepared to pay for a player he identifies as a ‘generational talent’.
